BUILD in 2019

Have you heard about our new Executive Education Opportunity for 2018?!? We are excited to announce we have teamed up with Butler University Executive Education to offer an executive-level leadership development program. Taught by Butler University faculty and held on their campus, IndySHRM and Butler can offer you a high-quality, cutting-edge series of four full-day courses to enhance your career and professional development

The program will kick off in February and will be held the first Friday of every month through May. Applications are now being accepted through January 4th and will be limited to 30 participants. The learning objectives for each course are listed below.

February 1, 2019 Catalytic Leadership – Leading from the Middle

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop the leadership mindset that you can positively impact the organization now
  • Identify and build on the 12 skills demonstrated by catalysts
  • Develop an ability to identify catalysts in your organization

March 1, 2019 Change Management – Dominant Logic

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how to develop high-performing team skills
  • Develop coaching frameworks that allow you to deepen your ability to listen, learn, and influence
  • Provide clear, direct feedback that results in positive impact

April 5, 2019 Building a High Performing Team

Learning Objectives:• Explicitly identify audience, including motivation and goals.

  • Understand role of empathy in effective communication.
  • Develop techniques to successfully navigate interactions with diverse stakeholder groups.

May 3, 2019 Stakeholder Analysis

Learning Objectives:

  • To develop the ability to diagnose organizational conditions, evaluate alternative approaches, and craft implementable and effective organizational change programs
  • To develop the skills to be effective internal and external change agents
  • To identify the strengths and weaknesses of theoretical models of organizational change
  • To understand the relationship between change and such concepts as organizational development and organizational learning
  • To recognize the positive and negative impacts of change initiatives on the firm’s stakeholders.

We are excited to announce our website has a new look and is now powered by a new membership software! We moved from Cvent to YourMembership or YM for short.

There is a new website, e-commerce, event calendar and reporting capabilities which is great for the chapter!

If you're a previous IndySHRM member you've already been sent your log in information. Or you can submit a password reset request by using the email that you've previously used for IndySHRM. Upon logging in you will be prompted to create a new profile and update your information. Then get ready to connect, engage and learn more easily within a member-centric collaboration tool. We are excited about the future we will be able to provide with this new software and will start to introduce new opportunities to connect IndySHRM members to personalized content and online communities based on your interests.

Volunteer Opportunities and Thanks

We’d like to give a big thank you to our members who continue to volunteer with the Marian University student chapter by reviewing resumes and performing mock interviews. Be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities at the University of Indianapolis.

We are currently working on the annual Student Conference. We are exploring a few changes for 2019 including a new date (historically held in February) as well as a collaboration with HR Indiana. We look forward to hosting great speakers and activities. Stay tuned for further details.

Track your recertification credits with the SHRM Certification App

With the certification app, available for iOS and Android devices, SHRM credential holders can search and filter recertification activities by competency, date or location; keep track of them; and enter the appropriate PDCs! The app automatically uploads the PDCs you’ve obtained from National SHRM conferences, SHRM eLearning, and SHRM seminars etc. into your profile. The app will also notify you when you are ready to apply for SHRM Recertification!

The email address in your SHRM Recertification Portal must match the email address in your National SHRM Membership account for it to link up.

Put SHRM "Out Front"

Just a reminder, if you are SHRM Certified... Put SHRM “out front” in your email signature (or on resumes or LI Profiles, etc.)

Example: Jane Smith, SHRM-CP, PHR (listing the SHRM Certification after your name and before others).

Monthly SHRM Recertification Live Chats
