About our Blog Author:  Tami Murphy, PHR works for Pinnacle Partners in a Business Development role.  Tami has over 16 years in the professional staffing & recruiting industry.  She has experience providing professional staff to multiple industries such as the federal government, accounting/finance  and healthcare entities.  She has been an active member of IndySHRM since 2002.  Tami most recently served as President-Elect and has held several other board and committee level service positions.  She also sits on the board of Indiana SHRM State Council.  Tami holds a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Ball State University.


We need you! IndySHRM’s annual election process has begun and we’re looking for great leaders to continue the advancement of our association. If you’ve always wanted to have the opportunity to further serve the organization by volunteering for a board position, now is the time!

The following board positions are open for election for the 2012-2013 term (2 year commitment):

  •     Treasurer
  •     VP of Membership
  •     Director of Certification
  •     Director of Communications
  •     Director of Sponsorship

If you are interested in being considered (or re-elected) for one of these positions, please complete the Board Leader form and submit along with a resume no later than August 1, 2011. The nominating committee of the Board (comprised of Past President, President, and President-Elect) will review all candidates, conduct interviews, and recommend a slate of officers to the Board. The membership will be notified of the slate by email and an electronic vote will be held in August.

Criteria for consideration:

  •     IndySHRM Member
  •     SHRM Member (or will join SHRM once elected)
  •     PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  •     Ability to attend monthly board meetings and monthly meetings/special programs
  •     Previous IndySHRM volunteer in some capacity preferred
  •     Ability to facilitate and lead a committee if position requires
  •     Ability to commit time to the position and the organization
  •     Strong leadership skills and self-starter
